Cricket World Cup 2019 Preview
England host the cricket world cup this summer, ensuring what will no doubt be a summer of cricket fever as the hosts have a fantastic chance of winning the competition. Everything comes to an end after the knockout round with the final of the competition, and that will be played on the 14th July.
Outright Betting
England are favourites to win the tournament and considering both how good they are on home soil and the fact that the tournament hosts have won the last two events, this is no surprise. That is all without mentioning that they are one of the best teams in the world, with an electric batting line up that can out score anyone on their day. India look to be the main challengers to England, they have a fantastic team for the shorter formats of the game and they appear to be the only batting line up who could keep up with England. I’m expecting plenty of huge scores here, and India’s T20 experience will serve them well if that is the case. The Indians are available at 33/10, and solid second favourites ahead of Australia, with the remainder available at double figures.
Group Betting
This world cup has a different format to before, so make sure you understand what is happening before placing your bets. Instead of splitting into two, the teams involved will all play each other in one big group, with the top four all qualifying for the semi finals. The betting order is the same as the outright market, with England the favourites at 15/8, and India priced up behind them at 9/4.

In the wicket taker market, Australian Mitchell Starc could offer good value at a double figure price. He has played in England before, knows the pitches well and can certainly takes wickets. Expect to see him towards the start and end of an innings, and at 16/1 he can give you a run for your money.
