Unibet Summary
Unibet is a well-established bookmaker that has been around since the late 1990s. They offer all of the key sports, but with particular specialism in football, horse racing, tennis and basketball. Their live streaming channel is, in this writer’s opinion, right up there with bet365 as the very best around.
Who are Unibet?
Unibet holds the unique distinction of being one of the first major operators to launch a betting website, with their initial launch taking place in 1999.
Today, Unibet has upgraded that early effort considerably, offering sports betting, casino games, poker and bingo that their players can access from a single account and bankroll.
Unibet has sponsored a number of big sports events and teams, including Middlesbrough FC, Ajax, Rangers and the NFL outfit Philadelphia Eagles.
Are Unibet’s Odds Any Good?
We analysed Unibet’s odds across hundreds of football games in the Premier League, other major European leagues and other competitions worldwide.
The result of our research confirmed that Unibet struggles to compete with the softer books and even some of their mainstream rivals in the key markets, although they did consistently offer excellent prices in the correct score and half time-full time categories.
Of the 20 Premier League teams, Unibet was only joint-best price for two of them in the Outright Winner betting. However, their ante post prices for the Grand National months in advance of the race were outstanding, with top odds offered on four of the six leading runners in the market.
Unibet’s margins are noticeably better when betting on individual horse races, with an overround of 4-6% in many of the races we observed. They also seemed to match the best price on favourites either by accident or design, so they’re a useful option when backing the market protagonist.

Football Betting
I have a bugbear about Unibet’s football betting lobby; the major leagues and competitions should be easier to locate than they currently are.
Boosted odds and specials are thin on the ground too, while a lack of player prop markets is a shame – these are becoming increasingly popular for both standalone wagers and bet builder selections.
Otherwise, Unibet offers a solid football betting platform, with all of the key match and outright markets you’d expect. There’s a bet builder tool and a host of promotions, including early payouts if your team goes two goals up, acca insurance, power sub (anytime goalscorer bets roll over to the player selected) and even edit bet, which lets you add selections to an existing wager.
The in-play betting feed is comprehensive and features dozens of leagues from around the world. But the real highlight, for me, is Unibet’s live streaming channel.
This is a point of difference that sets them apart from most. You can watch German Bundesliga, Spanish La Liga and Italian Serie A games via your Unibet account, as well as the FA Cup.
All you need to watch a live game is to have funds in your account and/or to have placed a bet within the previous 24 hours. And with minimum stakes starting at £0.10, this is one of the most affordable ways to watch elite football from across the continent.
Horse Racing Betting
As already mentioned, the horse racing odds at Unibet tend to be very good indeed, with low margins at the key UK and Irish meetings – and often favourable prices on the favourites.
Best Odds Guaranteed is available from 08:00 GMT on race day, which is as early as it gets, with a stack of other promotions available: daily boosts, money back specials, extra places, acca boosts and so on.
Unibet were also one of the first UK licensed bookmakers to offer bet builders on horse racing, while they’ve also added useful information to their cards to help inform your bets.
You’ll see each horse’s form, their age and their weight, alongside the Racing Post’s verdict on who may win and who may outperform their price.
And the icing on the cake is the live streaming channel, which covers horse racing from the UK, Ireland and overseas.
Sports Betting
Unibet’s sports are mostly listed in A-Z order, however football, horse racing, tennis and basketball start above the ‘A’ options.
And there’s a good reason for that, as Unibet are one of the most comprehensive bookmakers around for tennis and basketball in particular.
For the former, they cover the major and minor tours – the latter in impressive detail, with more than 30 markets available on Challenger Tour level action. The data module is really insightful too, offering a look at each player’s record on a particular surface, their current form, ranking and so on.
As for basketball, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a bookie offer odds for this diversity of competitions, with leagues in the Philippines, Paraguay, Rwanda and Uruguay provided alongside the more usual suspects.
As for the NBA, the list of outright markets is extraordinary: your scrolling finger will be tired after taking all these in.
Unibet has a complete A-Z of sports as you’d expect, with live streaming across the board and plenty of useful promotions. But for tennis and basketball betting in particular, few do it better.
Unibet Payment Methods
We have to be fully transparent in our bookmaker reviews, so we have to point out the bad as well as the good.
Unibet accepts deposits via Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Neteller and bank transfer. You’ll notice that the likes of PayPal, Apple Pay and Revolut are missing, which is a shame.
Those same options are available for withdrawals, but one thing that is positive is the payout speeds: in our testing, my Visa cash out was completed instantly.
