Who will win the signature of Erling Haaland?
If there is one name on everyone’s lips right now in terms of transfer activity then it is Erling Haaland. The 20-year-old has been the subject of interest from big clubs around Europe since showing his talents at Borussia Dortmund.
He’s the goal scorer that many Europe's "super clubs" are looking for, including some in the Premier League, but where will Haaland go this summer, if indeed he goes anywhere?
Here is our look at some of the front runners.
Manchester City
We often see Pep Guardiola playing without a striker, but that is simply down to personnel in his team, rather than a choice. With Sergio Aguero leaving this summer, a new star striker is needed and Haaland is without a doubt the top man seemingly available right now. Real Madrid
Known for taking the very best talent in Europe, Real Madrid have to be considered as top candidates to take Haaland. Karim Benzema leads the line for Real but is now 33-year-old, so it is time to start thinking about a replacement. Barcelona
If Barcelona want to make a splash and keep up to speed with Madrid, while also keepion Lionel Messi happy, bringing in a player like Haaland will certainly help. Manchester United
For many years, we have been discussing the need for an out and out striker at United, could they finally make a splash and go after Haaland? Chelsea
Not as realistic as the first four, but certainly a team who would be rounded off with a top quality striker in their ranks. With plenty of attacking players in midfield and out wide, Chelsea would look complete with someone like Haaland to lead the line and score goals for them. Staying at Dortmund?
There is of course one more possibility, that is Haaland doesn’t move anywhere this summer and continues to play for Borussia Dortmund. At just 20, he still has his best years ahead of him, and eventually the move will come, but there is no rush to cash in and get it done as soon as possible.
While he remains at the club, Dortmund will take advantage and use him as best as they can, knowing that their time will eventually come to an end. We are seemingly building to a move this summer for Haaland, but if he does stay and be the main man in the Dortmund team, it certainly wouldn’t do him any harm.
